Associate Pastor for Worship and Students
Beaver Dam Baptist Church
As a minister to the whole church, to work with the pastor and staff to bring vision and direction
to the overall life and activity of the congregation.
To see this job description not as a set of boundaries but as a foundation from which to exercise ministry gifts
in whatever ways the church needs and as the Spirit leads.
To engage meaningfully with every part of the congregation, and not just those groups or persons
for which they are directly responsible.
Under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, and in consultation with pastor, staff, and church leadership,
shape and evolve ministry skills and responsibilities to best utilize the minister’s gifts and calling.
Work under the direction of the pastor and cooperatively with the staff in a spirit of mutual respect
and collaborative decision-making.
Be willing to both think and work outside the box of their specific responsibilities.
To be mission minded in their ministry and in their personal life.
SPECIFIC MINISTRY DUTIES:
In conjunction with the pastor and staff, to plan biblical and creative corporate worship services.
To enlist and develop instrumentalists and vocalists to provide worship leadership.
To incorporate fresh expressions of authentic biblical worship while retaining those familiar elements
which have value and give voice to the heart language of the congregation.
To lead worship with sincerity, skill, and an engaging approach—combining a God-centered theology
with a people-centered methodology.
To provide or enlist leadership for performing groups that can enhance worship.
To give overall direction and leadership to the student ministry.
To enlist and guide current and future adult leaders in developing and implementing a student ministry
that reaches youth, disciples them, and gives them opportunity for service and ministry.
To build healthy and appropriate relationships with students to disciple and encourage them.
To be available for counseling and personal guidance for students in an appropriate fashion, and in consultation
with the parents suggest professional help for those students who may need more specialized counsel.
To communicate with and build relationships with parents of students, respond to concerns, and
partner with willing parents to help students become mature adults and growing Christians.
To plan and lead weekly gatherings and special events, including retreats and camps, for students.
To integrate the student ministry into the overall life and work of the church.
A CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION SHOULD:
Be a growing follower of Jesus who demonstrates strong character, integrity, wisdom, and people skills.
Be in general agreement with the doctrinal statements of Beaver Dam Baptist as outlined in our Constitution and By-laws (found HERE)

Have a cooperative spirit and a teachable mindset.
Possess sufficient training and experience to plan and lead worship and develop a worship ministry.
Possess the necessary experience, training, and personal gifts to implement
an effective student ministry.
Be comfortable with using and learning technology as a ministry tool.
Seek opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skill base in worship and student leadership.
Bring energy and commitment to their ministry.
Be responsible in their use of time, demonstrating integrity in fulfilling their work duties while giving priority
to their marriage, family relationships and personal spiritual and emotional health.
COMPENSATION will be determined based on training and experience.
